A pastor in Canada refused to wed a couple after finding out the groom had no immigration papers. According to him, the marriage is not based on love but just for the man to obtain his legal papers to reside in Canada.

The pastor, who is said to be the bride's father, asked the lady while conducting the wedding proceedings if the man had his papers and when she could answer yes,the pastor suspected foul playand pulled out from the wedding proceedings, insisting he wasn't going to be part of the arranged marriage. A woman escaped death by the whiskers on Wednesday, as a car rammed into her shop moments after she closed for the day. The incident happened at Okorie Street off Tetlow Road, Owerri in Imo state. Photo: Police arrest suspected Fulani herdman who shot okada rider in attempt to snatch his motorcycle in Abia State

Men of the Abia State Police Command have arrested a Fulani herdsman identified as one Adamu Abubakar who shot a commercial motorcyclist popularly known as okada rider. It was gathered that on May 27, at about 2am, the okada rider, one Uyime a resident at Rubber Research Institute of Nigeria, Akwette reported that he conveyed two passengers later identified as Adamu Abubakar and one other now at large from Azumiri to Akwette.
Along the road, the duo attempted to snatch the motor-cycle from him and as he resisted, they shot at him. On May 28, detectives attached to Akwette Division with the help of Vigilante group combed the area and arrested Adamu Abubakar with one cut to size locally made pistol and its live cartridge while the other suspect escaped. The injured victim is receiving treatment in the hospital while effort is intensified toward the arrest of the fleeing suspect.
Gabonese opposition politician arrested for threatening the President and inciting rebellion


Authorities in Gabon have arrested an opposition politician who threatened to cause violence by forcing President Ali Bongo to resign from his position. Confirming his arrest Wednesday, State prosecutor, Steeve Ndong Essame Ndong told AFP, that Roland Desire Aba'a Minko was placed in protective custody after "he threatened state security, inciting rebellion and circulating fake news to undermine public order" 
According to the state prosecutor, Aba'a Minko said he had staged the actions to frighten people and was ready to "face the consequences".

Earlier this month, Mr. Aba'a Minko threatened to blow up government property if Mr. Bongo refused to step down within three days. In another incident, masked men carrying knives claiming to represent him reportedly stormed several media outlets, demanding they broadcast an audio and video message urging Gabonese citizens to revolt. Aba'a Minko is a supporter of opposition leader Jean Ping who surprisingly dissociated himself from Minko's actions.

Jean Ping who contested in the 2016 presidential election against President Ali Bongo was narrowly defeated by a few thousands of votes.
FG moves to end increasing deaths of NYSC members in their states of primary assignment


The Federal government has initiated plans to help stop the increasing number of NYSC members dying in their states of primary assignment. Recall that quite a number of Youth Corps members have died in the last one year due to one ailment or the other.

In order to stem this tide, the Federal Executive Council yesterday approved the inclusion of all NYSC members in the National Health Insurance Scheme. Health Minister, Isaac Adewole, disclosed this to state house correspondents after the meeting.

"The other memorandum granted at today's meeting had to do with how the FG would prevent unnecessary deaths among youth corps member across the country. Council has approved the memo that henceforth, we would include NYSC members in the National Health Insurance Scheme across the country and this would guarantee access to quality healthcare across the country, prevent unnecessary deaths and also ensure our youth corps members receive the highest attainable level of care across the country"he said.

WTF? Lol. Commercial driver in Owerri tries to get himself run over by vehicle than follow police traffic wardens to station


There was drama yesterday, around Okigwe roundabout, Owerri when a commercial bus driver attempted to commit suicide by lying under a moving vehicle to be run over rather than follow Police Traffic Wardens to their office.


According to reports, the bus driver was allegedly beaten to pulp for refusing to follow the traffic wardens, who had already taken his bus to their station at Shell Camp.
